People go to Vietnam for beach vacations and diving. It feels like Thailand, but the prices are much lower. You can vacation in Vietnam all year round, but you need to understand the geographical and climatic features of the country to enjoy your trip and not spend most of your vacation in your room.

Vietnam in summer
Summer in Vietnam is the low season: there are heavy tropical rains, very hot and stuffy. In the south of the country it is slightly cooler than in the northern part of the country, where the temperature can rise to 40 °С.
The most comfortable summer is in the central part of Vietnam: rains are not so intense and sometimes there are dry days. At the same time, the temperature is also high – more than 30 ° C.
June
In the north of Vietnam in June the number of sunny days does not exceed ten, most of the time it rains in the capital. The air heats up to scalding temperatures, sometimes reaching up to 40 °С.
The most popular tourist destination in Vietnam in June is the resort of Nha Trang in the south-east of the country. According to the statistics, the least precipitation is here: there can be only 4 rainy days during the month.
In the south-west of Vietnam for a beach vacation in June is definitely better not to go: the popular resort of Phu Quoc at this time – a record-breaker for precipitation.
In the central part of Vietnam rainy and sunny days in June are approximately equal. Water in the sea heats up to 25-28 ° C, which makes the vacation comfortable even despite the rains.
July
The hottest month in Vietnam. In the north and south, the rainy season is at its peak, while in the central part it is quite dry. The farther you get from the sea, the more sweltering it is – in coastal areas the sea breeze blows, and the heat is not felt very sharply.
You can have a comfortable vacation in July in Vietnam in Hoi An. Precipitation here is rare and mainly closer to the evening, but there are beaches with snow-white sand, and the water temperature is about 27 ° C.
August
Perhaps the most inappropriate month for traveling to Vietnam is summer. Very hot weather, torrential rains, typhoons and washed-out roads that are not always fast enough to get to the right place – all this awaits tourists on a trip.
Acceptable places for beach vacations in August are Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Hanoi. Due to bad weather, the water is often muddy and the coast is not as clean as in the high season. Many people come to Vietnam in August not so much for beach vacation, but for spa procedures and excursions.
Vietnam in the fall
Autumn in Vietnam is not the most pleasant time to relax on the beach. From September to November there are storms and unexpected heavy rains. However, even in such weather tourists can enjoy exotic fruits, picturesque rice fields and unusual architecture.
September
In the north and south of the country, fog often forms, it is still very wet, and roads are washed out. Typhoons are not uncommon, although the rains are slowly beginning to subside.
For a vacation in September, choose the same places as in August: Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Hanoi. Be prepared that the water in the South China Sea will be very murky due to bad weather.
October
In October, the amount of rainfall in Vietnam slowly begins to decrease. At this time you can safely go to the north to see the magnificent Halong Bay and walk around the capital of the multinational republic.
It is not safe to go to the central part of Vietnam in October: this part of the country is often hit by typhoons and hurricanes.
Also in mid-autumn you should not go to Phu Quoc – it is very stormy there. In the south, preparations for the high season are gradually beginning. You can have a pleasant vacation, for example, in Nha Trang, and at quite affordable prices.
November
For a vacation in November is best suited to the northern part of Vietnam. November is considered to be the last month of the low season, so usually people who want to have a budget vacation come here at this time.
November is a good month for surfing. The wind is not so strong anymore, but enough for comfortable waves.
Vietnam in winter
At this time, Vietnam becomes an ideal destination for beach tourism. However, you need to know where to go to enjoy your vacation in this part of Indochina without getting caught in prolonged rain.
December
In late fall – early winter in the southeast of Vietnam begins the dry season, which lasts until April. The air in December in Vietnam warms up to 28-35 °С, there is almost no rain and winds. The most comfortable place for a vacation in December is a popular resort Phu Quoc.
In Phu Quoc, everything disposes to a quiet, relaxing vacation. If you want noisy parties, nightlife and shopping, it is better to choose Mui Ne and Vung Tau.
The north of Vietnam is also comfortable for tourism in December, but not for relaxing on the beaches: it often rains and cold winds blow. Although the air remains warm, the sea temperature drops.
January
From this month, the velvet season begins in Vietnam: the rains stop almost all over the country. Da Nang is the fifth largest city in Vietnam. Here you can not only relax on the beaches, but also walk along the seafront and go shopping.
Diving and kitesurfing are popular in Fukuoka in January. If you find it hot in the south, go to the northern regions – they are also ready to receive tourists. However, the temperature barely reaches 20 ° C, but you can relax on the crowded beaches, and vacation here at this time will be relatively inexpensive.
February
The flow of tourists during this period is usually directed to the south of Vietnam. Phu Quoc Island and the resort of Nha Trang are attractive for fishing, spa complexes and clean beaches with white sand, palm trees and blue water.
In February in Vietnam, you can visit Hue, the former capital and now a UNESCO protected city. In the north of Vietnam in February it is still cold. On average water temperature is uncomfortable for bathing and keeps at 18-20 °С. But with such weather you can walk around the iconic places and explore the culture and history of Vietnam.
Vietnam in spring
In spring, Vietnam becomes a pleasant and predictable vacation destination: the weather gradually calms down, the clouds move away, leaving clear, sunny skies and clean beaches. The best time for a vacation is early April. Closer to summer the low rainy season begins, but in April you can catch the off-season, when everything is inexpensive, but the conditions are the same as in the high season.
March
The most favorable month for vacation in Vietnam in all parts of the country. In the north, the temperature rises to 25 ° C, you can swim and walk in national parks.
In the south the temperature is constant – 30-35 °С. It is pleasant to have a vacation at any of the popular southern resorts, it will also be interesting to go to Ho Chi Minh City.
April
In April, the temperature throughout the country is comfortable and there is no rain. April is the blooming time of different plants, so it is nice to visit Vietnam’s national parks.
The middle of spring is also suitable for beach vacations. The most popular places are Phan Thiet and Fukuoka, where the water warms up to comfortable 23-27 ° C, and the air – to 30-35 ° C.
May
May is the start of the rainy season, although the first weeks of the month are an ideal time to travel to Vietnam. In the central part of the country is dry, you can visit the cities of Hue and Da Nang, go to museums and go to the mountains. The air in May warms up to 25-27 °С .
Closer to June, the weather becomes more humid and the heat is harder to bear. So the best places for a vacation in May are the central regions, where the weather changes more smoothly.
